i State's Railroads Seek Freight Hike NASHVILLE, UB Railroads operating In Tennessee have naked the State Railroad and Public Utilities Commission for a 10 percent freight rate boost. The carriers filed their petitloa yesterday. They said they are net asking for an increase In road aggregates, only the same rate Increase granted on Interstate freight rates by the Interstate Commerce Commission Aug. 2. The petition asks that the carriers be allowed to amend their petition of April which asks, for a six per cent hike in rates, to Include "the additional four per cent Increase.

The roads were granted a 25 per cent rate Increase, with certain exceptions, March 13. They have since asked that the 15 per cent boost be applied generally. The petition asking a six per cent hike was the latest filed by the carriers Both have been taken under advisement. Tho railroads also voluntarily offered to cut their Intrastate rates on petroleum products. Commissioner J.
