She thrived in her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Brookshire was a member of Trenton Baptist Church; Everfaithful Missionary Society; Trenton Moneymakers Club; Trenton Garden Club; Town and Country Homemakers Club; and was recognized in 1975 as a Kentucky Master Farm Homemaker. Her husband of 52 years, Wiley Edward Brookshire preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her children: Dorothy Jean (Dottie) Brookshire Hampton, Hopkinsville, Kentucky and John Dale Brookshire, Trenton, Kentucky; a sister Dorothy Marie Whetsel Walker, Greer, South Carolina; a granddaughter, Meredith Brooke Hampton Stilwell, Houston, Texas; three grandsons: Justin Wade Hampton, Nashville, Tennessee; Bradley Alan.
